We are incredibly fortunate to be located in an area that is home to beautiful countryside, villages and attractions.

The village of Uplyme is 0.9miles away with a fuel station, lovely village shop & post office, The Talbot Arms pub and a playpark.

The seaside town of Lyme Regis is a 5 minute drive by car, where the famous fossil hunter Mary Anning lived and discovered some of her greatest finds. Lyme Regis is a wonderful coastal town, famed for its fossils, and for its sandy and pebble beaches. You'll find a range of activities throughout the year, including Fossil Week, Lyme Regis Folk Festival, the Carnival and Regatta week, and a whole host of other events. There's the Marine Theatre, the Lyme Regis Brewery, and more than one fossil museum.

Other nearby beaches we recommend include Charmouth, Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth.

Local attractions (Please note some tourist attractions are seasonal)

Seaton Wetlands is a nature reserve, with almost 4km of accessible trails and boardwalks, to explore the beautiful marshland along the River Axe. You can park in the reserve Car Park (EX12 2SP), or catch the Seaton Tramway from Seaton or Colyton. The Tram is a great way to get a good view of the reserve and wading birds, and has a stop on the edge of the reserve. Please note there are no dogs allowed on the reserve. Seaton is approx. a 15 minute drive.
Foxdown Children’s Farm is open from Easter to October (weather dependent) and is approx. a 30 minute drive from us. There is a café, adventure playground and lots of animals to see and feed. They have sessions every day where you can hold the rabbits and guinea pigs, and give them a brush.
Pecorama miniature railway is open for special gala weekends, when rides are available on the 7.25inch railway and there are also large outdoor play areas. Pecorama is approx. 25 minutes from us.
The Donkey Sanctuary is open all year around, free to enter and only 25 minutes away. The sanctuary is home to a huge number of rescued donkeys, with scenic paths and a large café restaurant. Wellies are advisable in winter and dogs welcome.
Bicton Park & Gardens is an Estate with over 64 acres of gardens to explore. There is both indoor and outdoor play areas, a woodland railway, countryside museum, garden centre and café. Bicton is approx. 40 minutes away.
Crealey Theme Park is Devon’s biggest theme park and located approx. 45 minute drive away. It is open all year around, including special events for Christmas.

Pubs and restaurants

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage is located 8 minutes from Cannington Farm and offers a range of award winning cookery courses, as well as a café serving seasonal food and a shop.
Lyme Regis Brewery is located in the centre of Lyme Regis, and produces and serves local craft beer. The ‘tap room’ bar can be found in the courtyard of the Town Mill. Lyme Regis is our nearest town and only a 5 minute drive.
Millside seafood restaurant is also located in the Lyme Regis Town Mill area and has lovely atmosphere and great dishes, with outdoor catering in summer.
Swim is situated right on the beach in Lyme Regis. It is a stylish café serving a good range of breakfasts, and lunches such as burgers and seafood. It has an outdoor terrace in the summer months, but requires booking during busy times.
The Tytherleigh Arms is one of our favourites for high quality food in a lovely family-run inn. Open for lunch and dinner, they are approx. a 20 minute drive from us.
The Anchor pub at Seatown is hard to beat for location, perched right on the edge of the beach serving gastro pub food. Seatown is approx. 25 minutes away.
The Cotley Inn at Wambrook is slightly farther afield (35 minute drive), but worth a mention for it’s charm and the high quality food it serves.
The Hare and Hounds at Putts Corner is wonderful for a carvery every day of the week. It is a very large pub with bar and restaurant dining. There is a play area outside to keep the little ones entertained. The Hare and Hounds is approx. 30 minutes from us. Due to its popularity it is essential to book on a Sunday.
The Waffle House in Lyme and Axminster is a community café, worth a visit for it’s delicious sweet and savoury waffle dishes.
The Sea Shanty Beach Café at Branscombe is a lovely café situated right on the edge of the beach. We love their breakfasts, and they are great to visit when you fancy a seaside experience but the weather says otherwise!
